Guess Who's Back!

Hey everybody I just back from my 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C. this weekend that pasted I meant to make a post before I left but I ran out of time they made us wake up at 4:00 and let me tell you I am not at all a morning person and on top off that we where on a Coach bus for 16 HOURS by the name of Lamer 's they couldn't have thought of another name .The Hotel we stayed at was The Holiday End Express it was okay but when we walked in there I know smelled a slight smell of Mildew GROSSS) and there was Three people in my group They were all of my close friends which was good because there was only two twin beds in the room so I ended up sharing a bed with best friend Ciara and my other friend got the second to herself because she has some very weird sleeping habits let just say she likes to be free. The second day of the trip was the most brutal we had to walk almost every where I was practically pure sweat and god it was humid in hot down there I think I got a tone darker. My favorite part of the trip and the one I will always remember is when we got to go by the White House it was beautiful and when I got home I found out that Obama had just left to go to Chicago a few minutes before we arrived that Thursday so we almost might have been able to have seen him if we arrived earlier. My trip was exciting fun but I truly can say I am happy to be back home and back to blogging.

Here's a list of some the place's we went to:

The Pentagon

Vietnam and Korean Memorials

Smithsonian Institution American History

Jefferson and FDR Memorials

Alexandria's Footsteps To The Past

Newseum

Wreath Laying Ceremony

Oakland Athletics VS. Baltimore Oriole's

Pentagon Cit Mall

White House

Library of Congress and Supreme Court

Smithsonian Air and Space museum

Happy Memorial Day!

Eyes Like Stars Review

Summary:Enter Stage Right All her world's a stage. Beatrice Shakespeare Smith is not an actress, yet she lives in a theater. She is not an orphan, but she has no parents. She knows every part, but has no lines of her own. Until now. Welcome to the Théâtre Illuminata, where the characters of every place ever written can be found behind the curtain. They were born to play their parts, and are bound to the Théâtre by The Book—an ancient and magical tome of scripts. Bertie is not one of them, but they are her family—and she is about to lose them all and the only home she has ever known. Lisa Mantchev has written a debut novel that is dramatic, romantic, and witty, with an irresistible and irreverent cast of characters who are sure to enchant the audience. Open Curtain.

My Feelings: Eyes like stars is mesmerizing.I feel in love with every character in this book especially the funny and wild faeries that are Betrices #1 Sidekicks.Beatrice is a a hardheaded 17 year old who's lived in the Théâtre for almost her whole life she's quite a individual with her dyed Cobalt blue hair and spunky attitude that always seems to get her in to a lot of Shenanigans.(God I love saying that word).Nate is a charming pirate with a cute accent he's also is very protective over Beatrice. Aerial is a handsome and somtimes very annoying air spirt that happens to be my second favorite character in this book which is really weird because he barley has in personalty in this book until the very end but somehow his few parts in the book seemed like the best. I am a big fan of love triangles so when I was happy when saw the love triangle between Beatrice,Nate and Ariel now it's got me wondering who Beatrice is going to pick but I've got a feeling I know.
Overall: Eyes like Stars is a blend of laughs, magic, mystery and self-discovery I am so glad that I have the second book in this trilogy because I can't jump right into where I left off .

Forbidden Sea Review

Summary:When Adrianne comes face-to-face with the mermaid of Windwaithe Island, she is convinced that the mermaid means her harm. After all, the island is steeped in stories of mermaids' curses and the ill-luck that they bring. But Adrianne is fierce-willed and courageous and is determined to protect her family and the islanders from danger. Yet when the islanders find out about Adrianne's encounters with the mermaid, her family is scorned. They believe that once active, the mermaid cannot be quieted until an islander sacrifices herself to the sea. But is the legend true? And will their fear make them force Adrienne to test it? This is a haunting story of love, surrender and strength.

My Feeling: I loved reading Forbidden Sea it's a delightful story that slightly reminded me of
The Little Mermaid. I also Loved Adrianne she's a survivor she's had to deal with the the loss of
her father at a young age and deal with her deeply depressed mother at the same time so
because of all those factors her whole family ends up living in a tightly-crammed cottage with
her bitter and mean Aunt. The story begins the night her little sister Celia runs away out into the unforgiving weather and when Adrianne finds her she’s inert and unconscious on top of a rock then a gorgeous mermaid grasp hold of her and tries to drown her or so she believes, this is how Adrianne is entwined into the entrancing world of Mermaids. The Plot for was pretty fasted-past for me at least I finished reading it in only a few days it did have it's flaws but for the most part the plot was very enjoyable. I absolutely Loved how Shelia described the Peaceful underwater sea world of the Mermaids it made me intensely wish that it truly was real .The ending was cute and sweet but I have a feeling that there's a little bit more story left for Adrianne and the Mermaids I love so much I've heard that there will be a possible companion to this book if this book sales well so please go out and buy this when it comes out.

Overall:This was relaxing for me to read because I am in the middle of try to read one book that is just torture for me but unlike that book Forbidden Sea was easy to delve into and really enjoy.

The Emerald Talisman Review

Summary:To be normal, sixteen-year-old Julia Parker would shed her empathic gift in a second. Life has been difficult since her mother's mysterious disappearance ten years earlier - an event she witnessed, but can't remember. Julia's situation becomes more complicated after a near death experience from a blood thirsty stalker. As high school students go missing it is clear there is a connection to her own experience--past and present. Someone has to stop the madness and a chance encounter with a creepy psychic foretells that only Julia is the key to stopping the madness, but it may require the life of the one she loves.

My Feelings:The Emerald Talisman is a dark compelling read that revolves around Julia a normal teenager expect for the fact that she feel others emotions when there around her she lives with her widowing father and laid-back sweet brother Luke. Her life is altered permanently when she runs out of gas when shes coming home from her job and wanders into the dark woods in order to find a shorter way to get home there she feels the hunger of a viscous creature as she tries to run she trips and finds her self almost falling to her death but is miraculously saved by the Mysterious and secretive Nicholas.I liked Julia she started out kinda weak and defenseless but as the story moved along we saw sparks of a inner warrior ready to fight of the dangerous creatures that lurk without being noticed. Nicholas was a very likable character as well he that dark and intriguing vibe althought I liked another male character in this book a lot more even so it was fun reading and finding out more about the secrets of Nicholas. The plot was pretty great to because when it started to drag it seemed to kick back with a little more action. The ending was not abrupt it ended with some kind of order but I know that there are many more secrets that need to be told in the second book.

Overall:The Emerald Talisman did show small traces of the the well-known,loved and sometimes hated Vampire saga Twilight but still had it own original story that glimmered and shined.
